Christopher Paul Mullin was born on March 30, 1963 in Brooklyn, NY. He is the son of  . Growing up playing basketball in New York, Mullin traveled to different boroughs to compete against anyone. These times helped Chris’ game and ultimately got his name out as one of the city’s young talents.

 

 

Chris attended two New York premier basketball powerhouse high schools growing up. He spent the first two years at Power Memorial Academy before transferring to Xaverian High School. During his senior year, he led Xaverian to the state title and was named New York’s Mr. Basketball. His play earned him a scholarship to continue his basketball career at St. Johns.

Mullin played four years at St. John’s from 1981-85. He had one of the most decorated careers in college basketball. He was a two-time Consensus All-American, three-time Big East Player of the Year and received the John Wooden Award in 1985. He led St. John’s to the final four in his senior season, although they lost to Georgetown in the semifinals. He averaged 19 points and 4 rebounds over his stellar college career.

Chris Mullin NBA Career Stats and Notes

Mullin was selected seventh overall in the 1985 NBA Draft by the Golden State Warriors. He played all but three seasons of his NBA career with the Warriors; spent three years with the Indiana Pacers. Mullin retired after the 2000-01 season as the Warriors all-time leader in points. He was inducted into the Basketball Hall of Fame in 2011.

Mullin enjoyed the most success of his Hall of Fame NBA career from 1989-1993. Making All-Star and All-NBA teams during this time period, Mullin averaged at least 25 points per game each season. Mullin, along with Tim Hardaway and Hall of Famer Mitch Richmond, formed a great trio for the Bay. Nicknamed ‘Run TMC’, which the TMC is the first name initials of the three teammates, the three made the Warriors one of the highest scoring teams in the NBA.
