Jason Paul Taylor was born on September 1, 1974 in Pittsburgh, PA. He is the son of Georgia and Anthony Taylor. Jason was raised by his mother. Times were tough for Jason and his family. His mother worked tirelessly to provide for her kids, working multiple jobs. However they were homeless at times. Those tough times and the perseverance of his mother molded Jason. He used the same determination and work ethic to defy the odds of being undersized and become one of the best defensive ends during the 2000s.
Taylor had an unconventional high school experience. He was home schooled starting in his sophomore year. He still was able to participate in high school football and played for Woodland Hills High School. Taylor was able to play well enough in his lone high school season to receive a scholarship to the University of Akron.
